Rubelis Presence Diver

Your dive count tells you how much you have done underwater. It says very little about how much you have noticed. This is an official PADI specialty certification that teaches you to observe, stay composed and make clear decisions underwater.

Theory, two open water dives, PADI certification fee and all dive equipment included. Training takes place at Guru Dive dive centre in Istanbul, Türkiye.

3 m · Why this course

Technical training teaches you what to do. This course teaches you to notice first.

Many divers have good buoyancy, efficient air consumption and automatic procedures. Yet when asked what they actually noticed on a dive, the answer is often a shrug.

Rubelis Presence Diver was designed for that missing dimension. It introduces no new technical skill. It teaches you to apply the skills you learned in Open Water with observation, controlled breathing and a deliberate decision sequence.

  • Observation

Staying still and genuinely reading your surroundings, yourself and your buddy.

  • Awareness

Reading your own stress level and your buddy's state from non-verbal cues.

  • Composure

A repeatable decision sequence for minor in-water stressors.

  • Taught by a PADI Instructor within PADI standards and safety procedures.
  • Written and developed by PADI IDC Staff Instructor Taylan Kırali.

  1. StopPause for a moment before reacting.
  2. BreatheSlow your breathing on purpose.
  3. AssessSee what is happening and your options.

Know what you will do underwater

Every task uses skills you already have from Open Water. There is no written exam; you are assessed on your in-water performance and a short written reflection after each dive. Standard PADI safety and emergency procedures apply in full at all times.
